My Square Card Reader arrived over the weekend. Have not had a chance to play with it yet, but looking forward to seeing how this mobile credit card payment system works.
NITDroid (the version of Google’s Android operating system for Nokia tablets) is looking stable and worthy of installation on the N900. I think I may give this a go…

My Game Gripper for the N900 arrived. I was somewhat hesitant ordering this, but decided that this would be an excellent way to use emulators on my mobile ‘phone. And it is…. Combined with a TV-out cable this will be travelling with me every time I take a trip – a perfect way to while a way the hours in dreary hotels.

Interestingly, the instructions / disclaimer form that arrived with the package was a little defensive. The Game Gripper will increase wear and tear on my ‘phone. Hoping that any damage to the keyboard is minimal.

Purchased some very handy USB cables (with the somewhat unfortunate name of BONE Accessory Link Series) from Cyberguys. These cables are super short, so I can travel extremely light. Happy with my purchase.

Test part 3 involves using the iBlogger app. This particular app has not yet been converted to a native iPad version yet, so the scaled interface is less fun to use than BlogPress. It gets worse. The app crashed every time I attempted to publish my post. Looks like the N900 wins on all counts
I obviously have too much time on my hands this evening. My second test on the iPad involves using the BlogPress app. The BlogPress program is easy to use – it looks like I can upload images (via Flickr) and video (via YouTube), add tags, but hyperlinking does not seem to be an option. Having said that, I failed spectacularly in uploading an image – but perhaps that was due to AT&T’s sporadic DSL service.
I posted a (relatively) short video on the use of Twitter. The video was created for my colleagues at work. It is not exactly my finest hour – I kicked this out as quickly as I could. I had edited the screencast two time previously, but the exported results were missing sound and audio. I would like to think the earlier efforts were works of genius that were unlucky not to see the light of day, but that would be a stretch. Anyway, I hope they are of use.
Even though iBlogger and BlogPress are fine programs I probably will not use then most of the time. Since I am using the iPod Touch I can only upload when I have WiFi access (and getting photos onto the iPod is unreasonably painfully). Which brings me back to the Blackberry. A device that allows me to upload and update the blog from pretty much any place with a decent signal.
I looked at BBMetaBlog and Mopress but could not get either to work adequately. Email looks to be the easiest option at the moment. All of which means that this site will soon be littered with blurry cellphone shots from the road.
I am testing two mobile blogging apps for the iPod Touch. Neither is ideal, but they get most of the job done. At the moment BlogPress seems to work best. Strange, since it is the cheaper product. iBlogger offers the ability to add location information and has more flexibile image options. Chances are that I will end up using both apps.
